The American Mining Hall of Fame Awards Banquet and Fundraiser will be co-hosted by Mining & Minerals Education Foundation (MMEF), SME Arizona Conference, University of Arizona SME Student Chapter and AMIGOS. This is a great opportunity to meet industry professionals, the award recipients, and fellow classmates. The awards consist of: 2023 Medal of Merit Recipient, 2023 Inductees from Mining’s Past, 2023 Special Citation, and 2023 Industry Partnership. You won’t want to miss out!
All proceeds go to MMEF Educational and Public Outreach Program.

About The Mining & Minerals Education Foundation
The Mining and Minerals Education Foundation (MMEF) is a non-profit organization that promotes the significance of a strong domestic and international mining industry. They fund the Education Outreach Program at The University of Arizona School of Mining & Mineral Resources, led by Chris Earnest as the Outreach Coordinator. This program communicates the importance of mining to our economy, lifestyle, and quality of life. Through presentations and exhibits at schools, STEM events, and museums, the Outreach Program reaches thousands of students, parents, and teachers.

Thanks to so many generous sponsors, SME was able to have many students attend last year’s Hall of Fame Banquet at no cost, approximately 23 students. Students felt extremely inspired by the award recipients and even got to meet Denise Johnson, the 2022 inductee. It was a great event to meet people who have shaped this career field and celebrate the great mining industry.
