This conference is dedicated to all disciplines of mining engineering. With its diverse range of technical sessions and esteemed speakers, complemented by an expansive exhibit hall, MINEXCHANGE draws in thousands of mining professionals from across the globe.

Technical Sessions
Technical sessions enlighten students and the audience members about various topics ranging from Coal & Energy to Diversity & Inclusion. Throughout the four day event, there are technical sessions given by industry professionals, students from the undergraduate to graduate level, and professors. There were 39 technical presentations at the 2023 MINEXCHANGE that were representing The University of Arizona from the Mining & Geological Engineering Department and other various departments! Exhibit Hall
Immerse yourself in a firsthand experience of the latest products, comprehensive services, and integrated solutions, all offered by industry vendors who truly comprehend certain mining company’s requirements. This is a great way for students to interact with professionals from the mining industry. You won’t want to miss out!
SME/NSSGA Design Competitions
There are two sections for the design competitions: Metallic and Aggregate Section.
The Metallic Student Design Competition (SDC) centers around assessing a mineral deposit (precious/base metal or industrial mineral) and developing a potential flowsheet and process design. For more information, click me.
The Aggregate Student Design Competition centers around a technical design phase based on an aggregate mining industry design problem and an oral presentation (if advanced to phase 2). For more information, click me.
If you make it to Phase 2 for any of the two competitions, you will be representing UArizona at this SME National Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

MINEXCHANGE 2023
MINEXCHANGE 2023 was hosted in Denver, Colorado. The UArizona SME Student Chapter was able to send 35 students to conference, thanks to all of our sponsors and participants in our annual golf tournament!
This four day event was able to engage every student through keynote speakers, technical sessions, exhibit hall, and the company mixers, while engaging all interests in the industry.
